This article includes instructions for creating, modifying, and deleting real user tests, as well as reference information for the various configurable settings.
Real user tests get automatically deployed when the user visits a website in the monitored domain set.
A monitored domain set consists of domains that you want to gather end-user performance metrics about. The best practice is to use business-relevant domains for tools and sites that your end users access.
To add a monitored domain set:
Navigate to the Endpoint Agent > Test Settings > Real User Tests tab.
Click the Add New Monitored Domain Set button.
Configure the basic settings for the session. See the table below for summaries of each option.
Click Add New Monitored Domain Set at the bottom to save the domain, or click Cancel to discard the changes.
Domain Set Name
A user-defined name for the domain set.
Monitored Domains
This list consists of domains that you want end-user performance monitoring information about. You can press Enter and continue adding the domains.
Excluded Subdomains
This list consists of subdomains that you want to exclude from end-user performance monitoring. For example, you can have thousandeyes.com as a monitored domain but you want to exclude docs.thousandeyes.com.
You can press Enter and continue adding the domains.
Agents
The agents that run the browser sessions for this monitored domain set. There are three options available:
**All Agents**: The browser session is assigned to all available agents. This is selected by default.
**Specific Agents**: The browser session is assigned to user-defined agents. You can select the agents from the drop-down or the search function.
**Agent Labels**: The agent is assigned based on pre-configured labels. See Configure Endpoint Agent Labels for more information.
The Endpoint Agent > Test Settings > Real User Tests tab displays a table of all existing monitored domains sets along with their corresponding monitored domains:
To edit a monitored domain set:
From the Endpoint Agent > Test Settings > Real User Tests tab, identify the domain set that you intend to edit, either by scrolling down the list or searching for the set with the search function.
Click the relevant row in the table to open the side panel.
Edit the set as desired. Refer to the table above, for summaries of each option.
Click Update Monitored Domain Set to save the changes, or click Cancel to discard the changes.
Changes to the Monitored Domain can take up to 20 minutes to reflect.
To delete a monitored domain set:
From the Endpoint Agent > Test Settings > Real User Tests tab, identify the domain set that you intend to delete, either by scrolling down the list, or searching for the set with the search function.
Click the three dots icon at the end of the test row.
Click Delete.
Click Delete to confirm the deletion, or Cancel to revert.
