Router Agent Device Support

When the device agent is embedded into a CPE/router, it is integrated within the firmware shipped with the device. There are two flavours of firmware: custom and generic, and is deployed based on the service provider's needs.

Custom vs Generic Firmware

The router agent is integrated into either:

• Custom firmware

  For specific service providers that work with manufacturers and have their own custom software deployed to their CPEs. Common amongst tier 1 ISPs.

• Generic firmware

  For service providers that take 'off-the-shelf' firmware from manufacturers like Linksys, Hitron, Zyxel, Kaon, TP-Link.

When integrating firmware, we work directly with both service providers and manufacturers. For manufacture-led integrations, the agent may already be pre-integrated into the firmware of a device, meaning our agent is ready to activate if an ISP is already using, or purchases, one of these devices for their install base.
