These Connected Devices tests fall into the category of ThousandEyes DNS layer tests (see Tests for more information about our layers). Like other ThousandEyes DNS layer tests, our tests measure the time it takes to translate a hostname into an IP address. Our DNS resolution test allows you to choose from multiple methods to test the response time of DNS queries against a domain, but without necessarily having to specify the server.
