Recommendations

Test recommendations are an efficient way for you to quickly create tests, alerts, and dashboards. Because test recommendations are based on your existing services and integrations, you can experience the benefits of improved monitoring coverage right away, such as quicker detection and resolution of service degradation and network outages.

To view a list of available test recommendations for your account:

1. Go to Cloud & Enterprise Agents > Test Settings > Tests.

2. At the Add New Test button, click the dropdown arrow and select Add from Recommendations.

Associated Service Recommendations

Associated Service Recommendations use the email address you have configured for your account to suggest domains that you can monitor. Associated Service Recommendations are a great place to start if you are new to ThousandEyes and not yet sure of your monitoring coverage needs.

To view Associated Services Recommendations from the recommendations list, select the checkbox next to the filter that says Associated Service Recommendations.

AWS Test Recommendations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Test Recommendations includes support for API Gateway, the CloudFront content delivery network, and Global Accelerator services. The AWS Test Recommendations service identifies any testable API endpoints and CloudFront and Global Accelerator resources, automatically generating templates that you can select to configure the monitoring resources you need.

CloudFront Monitoring

CloudFront is the AWS content delivery network service offering a global cache service that stores copies of your data on edge location caches. These caches are positioned as close to your customers as possible.

CloudFront recommendations

The ThousandEyes AWS Test Recommendations service only supports CloudFront distributions of Production type with a TLS certificate.

Global Accelerator Monitoring

AWS Global Accelerator directs traffic to a global static Anycast IP address. This IP address acts as a fixed entry point to application endpoints in single or multiple AWS Regions. These endpoints can include Application Load Balancers, Network Load Balancers, and Amazon EC2.

Global Accelerator recommendations

The ThousandEyes AWS Test Recommendations service only supports Global Accelerators backed by load balancers configured with AWS Certification Manager to terminate TLS. Load balancers must have TLS or HTTPS listeners. Other resource types (e.g., EC2 instances) are not supported.
