Archived - Embedding ThousandEyes Widgets in AppDynamics Dashboards

This article describes an older method of integrating AppDynamics and ThousandEyes. For a more complete integration method, see AppDynamics Bi-Directional Integration.

One of the easiest ways to integrate ThousandEyes and AppDynamics is to embed ThousandEyes dashboard or report widgets directly into AppDynamics dashboards. This allows you to see performance and health data from both ThousandEyes and AppDynamics quickly, making it easier to correlate data perform root-cause analysis, and understand end-to-end application performance.

To integrate ThousandEyes widgets, start from the ThousandEyes platform.

  1. Navigate to Dashboards and open a dashboard that contains a widget you'd like to embed into AppDynamics.

Alternatively, you can create a new dashboard and add a new widget.

  2. For the widget you want to embed into AppDynamics, select the ellipsis menu next to the gear icon, and select Embed Widget.

  3. Select Allow anyone to embed this widget onto external sites and copy the resulting URL.

Note: Copy the URL only, not the full iframe code. For example, https://embed.thousandeyes.com/e/yfziovoxwu .

  4. In AppDynamics, navigate to the dashboard where you want to add the widget.

  5. Enable the Edit toggle and click Add Widget.

  6. In the Add Widget dialog, select Other Widgets, then IFrame.

  7. In the URL to Display field, paste the URL from the step above.

Make sure that the Security Sandbox IFrame option is unchecked.

Now you can show ThousandEyes data alongside AppDynamics data in the same dashboard. For example:
