Provider Intelligence within Internet Insights helps you make fast, data-driven decisions when selecting internet service providers (ISPs) or peering partners. With just a few clicks, you can identify, evaluate, and compare providers side-by-side — without deploying agents or configuring tests.

By leveraging historical data aggregated from billions of daily measurements collected from the global ThousandEyes network of Cloud and Enterprise Agents, Provider Intelligence transforms how you make critical infrastructure decisions.

## Key Benefits

* **Fast, informed decision-making**: Generate provider comparisons in seconds using months of pre-collected historical performance data.
* **Objective comparisons**: Access vendor-neutral, aggregated performance metrics from real network paths.
* **Comprehensive analysis**: Compare providers across multiple metrics, destinations, and time periods.
* **No deployment required**: Leverage existing ThousandEyes test data with no agents to install or tests to configure.
* **Saveable reports**: Generate professional reports with selectable metrics to support your business decisions.

## Primary Use Cases

Provider Intelligence supports two primary workflows:

### Branch Location Planning

Identify and evaluate service providers for new or existing branch locations that are best suited for your business needs. Understand which internet service providers (ISPs) are available in each geographic location and how they perform for the applications and cloud services (destinations) your business actually uses.

**Example**: If you're opening offices in multiple cities, you can quickly determine which local providers offer the best performance specifically for your most-used applications such as Microsoft 365, Webex, and your internal applications, without conducting lengthy proof-of-concept tests or relying solely on ISP-provided analysis.

### Peering Partner Evaluation

Understand how your application or service, running in a specific region, connects to the internet by selecting source and destination locations. Use this insight to identify and evaluate potential peering partners that could best serve your users.

**Example**: If you're a SaaS provider, you can evaluate which providers and peering partners deliver the best performance to your end users across different regions, informing your strategic peering decisions.

### Additional Use Cases

* **Provider expansion and selection**: Evaluate provider footprints across geographies during planning phases.
* **SLA validation**: Monitor your existing providers against contracted service levels.
* **Cost negotiation**: Support your vendor discussions with objective historical performance data.

## How It Works

Provider Intelligence uses a simple three-step workflow:

1. **Set comparison criteria**: Tell us where you need provider data and we’ll bring the data to you; customize your query by time range (1, 3, or 6 months), source locations (cities), destinations (applications and/or cloud regions), and the metrics that matter most to your business.
2. **Review results**: View and compare results based on your query criteria, complete with comprehensive provider performance scores and stability scores per metric, overall scores per provider, and trends. View both summary data and detailed time series analyses.
3. **Generate Reports**: Select up to five providers per location and generate a report with your findings.

The entire process takes minutes, not months, giving you the insights needed to make confident provider selection decisions.

## How to Get Started

Provider Intelligence is included with your Internet Insights subscription at no additional cost. Any Internet Insights package, regardless of size, region, or type, is sufficient to access this feature. **Note**: Provider Intelligence cannot be purchased separately.
