Chromium Upgrade for BrowserBot
We have started upgrading the Chromium browser for our browser-based tests to Chromium 132 (default) and Chromium 135 (newer).
For more information on why Chromium upgrades are needed, see Why Chromium Upgrades.
The following known browser behavior discrepancies have been identified in Chromium 132:
waitForTextToBePresent: This function is known to be flakey in Chromium 132. If you are running into this issue, we recommend defining your own custom function.
Stricter certificate validation: Previously, certificate issues could be optionally ignored. In Chromium 132, certificates must be valid.
Endpoint Agent Client Version 2.9.0
The following enhancements have been made to the Endpoint Agent client:
All Platforms
Timing offsets are now used in dynamic network tests to reduce the risk of traffic spikes at targets.
Previously, user agent registrations would fail for agents registered with external metadata. This issue is now fixed.
Previously, the agent did not correctly handle the bypass list entries in the proxy configuration when the list contained more than one element. This issue has now been resolved, and the endpoint agent can now handle a bypass list with multiple entries.
The diagnostic bundle now includes the information related to Cisco Secure Client configuration.
Windows
The Endpoint Agent now bundles and supports NPCAP 1.79 for its Extended Network Test Support functionality.
macOS
WebSocket connections to the ThousandEyes system have been enhanced to align with the system's proxy configuration, improving overall connectivity and performance.

Announcing the AI Assistant Limited Preview
ThousandEyes is excited to announce that the AI Assistant limited preview is now available. This release is designed to enhance user troubleshooting and provide context with AI-driven insights. Key features of the preview include:
Troubleshooting Application Experience
The assistant can help troubleshoot the performance and experience of specific applications by using events, alerts, and Internet Insights outage data (if purchased). It provides clear summaries of the issue type, start time, duration (if applicable), and the number of affected agents and tests in your account group. This will help you quickly pinpoint and better understand the root cause of performance issues, leading to faster resolution and reduced downtime.
You can ask the AI Assistant questions like:
Were there any alerts triggered for [application name] today?
How many agents are affected by the latest issue with [application name]?
What locations are experiencing problems with [application name]?
Documentation Skill
The assistant allows users to ask natural language questions about the ThousandEyes product and API documentation, as well as public blogs. It streamlines access to technical information, providing quick answers to product questions along with references and hyperlinks to supporting documentation for deeper exploration.
You can ask the AI Assistant questions like:
"What are the supported metrics for Cloud Agent tests?"
"How can I create a new test using the ThousandEyes API?"
"What is the default interval for HTTP server tests?"
To get started, reach out to your Account Team or Support to opt-in.
